If you’re making a career change over 40 or 50, you might not want to invest lots of time in education. The good news is, there are plenty of jobs available if you want to start working sooner versus later. Read on to learn about five career changes that require little experience.

Administrative

Virtual administrative assistant (VAs) opportunities are plentiful. The salary can range anywhere from $15-$50 per hour, depending on your experience and training. If you’re looking to segue from a career in hospitality, tourism, or event planning, an administrative role is an excellent choice.

You can highlight transferable skills like customer service, oral and written communication, project management, budgeting, and event coordination on your resume and in the interview process.

Parents like myself are homeschooling their kids. Along with this new trend comes great demand for online educators.

Some customer service positions comes with a regular salary and benefits. Many are part-time and / or temporary and on a contract basis. There are pros and cons to each. If you are a salaried employee you have more job security and a steady pay check. However, if you’re part-time or contract you can sometimes make your own hours and have greater flexibility.

Many customer service jobs are online due to the pandemic. And depending on where your interests lie, you can choose from a number of different fields like healthcare, education, insurance, and retail / sales to name just a few.
